FC Kaiserslautern Beats Saarbrücken 2-0, Ends Fairytale Run
Third-Tier Side Advance to DFB-Pokal Final
Bayer Leverkusen Also Advance With 3-2 Victory Over FC Köln
FC Kaiserslautern, currently playing in the third tier of German football, pulled off a stunning upset on Tuesday by defeating 1. FC Saarbrücken 2-0 in the DFB-Pokal semi-finals.
With the victory, Kaiserslautern becomes the first third-tier team to reach the DFB-Pokal final since Energie Cottbus in 1997.
Kaiserslautern will face Bayer Leverkusen in the final on May 28th. Leverkusen booked their place in the final with a 3-2 victory over FC Köln in the other semi-final.
